Naomi Rabb has endured more loss and hardship than most people face in a lifetime. She lost both of her parents at a very young age and survived a liver transplant herself. Despite these unimaginable challenges, Naomi continues to demonstrate remarkable grace, strength, and resilience. She has completed all of her nursing school prerequisites with a 4.0 GPA while working two part-time jobs at Dollar General and the CHKD Thrift Store to save for college tuition. Now, she is preparing for the HESI exam—a critical step toward admission into Old Dominion University’s Nursing Program—while also grieving the loss of her mother and helping to plan her mother’s funeral.

Naomi’s journey has been one of extraordinary responsibility and compassion. Since middle school, she served as her mother’s caregiver, constantly monitoring her condition and providing life-saving support. Even while attending VCU in Richmond, Naomi checked on her mother multiple times a day, ensuring her safety and well-being. Her vigilance and love extended her mother’s life, and her dedication to family and education is truly inspiring.

In this season of loss and transition, Naomi is doing everything she can to create a better future for herself. The financial burden of tuition, exam fees, and living expenses is heavy, especially as she balances work, study, and grief.
