Lifting Lori Through BREAST CANCER

I met Lori shortly after moving to Gibsons, and she is one of those magical friends for whom I felt a strong connection from the first day we met. We are the same age and we have children born on the exact same day, hours apart. Throughout our busy lives, we have always supported each other from near or far and now I'm asking everyone to help me support her through her next big challenge - breast cancer.

This is my public service announcement about breast cancer. A few weeks ago I had my first-ever mammogram - at the “tender” age of 46. My maternal grandmother had breast cancer at the same age. I was surprised to be called back for another mammogram (more magnified) and ultrasound. I was called back a third time so that an ultrasound-guided core sample biopsy could be performed and another magnified mammo. 17 days after the sample was taken I found out that I have breast cancer. I’m going for an MRI so that they can determine what stage it’s at. There will be surgery, possibly radiation and/or chemo. It’s not very big and we’re optimistic about the outcome! I just need to get it out there and remind y’all to get your damn mammograms!! 1-800-663-9203 is the number you call to book it. I had one scheduled in June but postponed. Right now, there isn't a lot of information to share, but I know all too well that the financial burden of fighting cancer is real. Lori is one of the kindest, most generous people I've ever met, she has two amazing daughters and a loving boyfriend who are also going to need our help. Please help me "Lift Lori" and her family through this difficult time, so they can focus on the hard work it takes to beat this disease. Please give generously.
