Kristi Stickley is a beloved member of our gym community and an incredible record-setting powerlifter. She has inspired so many of us with her strength, determination, and resilience. Now, Kristi needs our support as she faces the fight of her life.

In May 2023, Kristi began experiencing severe pelvic pain, which led to multiple ER visits. Initially, doctors believed she had a large fibroid in her uterus. Despite ongoing symptoms, including infections, back pain, and three months of heavy bleeding earlier this year, Kristi was determined to preserve her fertility and avoid surgery. However, by September 2024, it became clear that surgery was necessary, and she underwent a hysterectomy.

Heartbreakingly, pathology revealed that the mass previously thought to be a fibroid was actually a rare and aggressive form of cancer called high-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (HGESS). This cancer is so rare that it accounts for just 0.2% of uterine cancers, affecting only 1-2 women in a million. While initial scans were encouraging, further biopsies after a second surgery in October 2024 confirmed that the cancer had metastasized to Kristi’s pelvic peritoneum.

Kristi is now navigating the challenges of medical menopause, frequent tests, and consultations with oncologists. She has upcoming appointments with specialists, including a trip to the Mayo Clinic, to determine the best course of treatment. Between surgeries, treatments, travel to specialists, missed work, and mounting medical bills, Kristi and her family are facing overwhelming expenses.

Kristi’s positivity and strength remain unwavering, but this journey has been filled with uncertainty and emotional highs and lows. She has kept much of her battle private, but now she needs our help.
