Elmore Family Needs Your Help Now

Well, here goes one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Here is my story.
My name is Donald Shane Elmore and I will turn 40 this year in August of 2025. I am happily married to my wife of 8 years (been together 10) and we have 3 children: 2 little girls and 1 little boy. Recently, my father passed last month and for the past 7 years, my wife and I had moved him in with us so we could take care of him since his health as an 84-year-old man had declined. I did the best I could taking care of him as a young man with a young family myself. He was my father, so I wanted to be the one to help him. Unfortunately, that caused me not to be able to work at all really with his everyday around-the-clock care. With that being said, my wife was (is) working a job at a store, but of course it wasn't enough to take care of all of us, plus the bills. Since the passing of my father on Mother's Day of this year 2025, my wife and I decided we needed to move out of the house that we and my father were living in. We needed to get out of that house because of several things. I don't want to put the guy's name on here, but I really should since he let us live in the conditions that we were living in and would not fix anything: plumbing, electrical, etc. Especially with an elderly man and kids there. Anyway, that's beside the point right now.

Well, with a lot of hard work and dedication, we saved and borrowed to get to another home and we were absolutely happy! More money, but since I'm working now, we can do this. We have been here a little over 3 weeks now. Just a little apartment brought us so much joy. We did have a problem: we have been without a vehicle for about a year, so we had to take Uber or Lyft rides to and from work. That's both of us and it was $80 a day for us just to go to work and back home. Ok, so our boss noticed this with us and she is a very sweet woman and she found us this 2010 Honda Civic for $3500. We, of course, did not have that kind of money, so she actually put up half of the money for us to get this car since we had saved about 1K and we had to borrow $400 from a family member of my wife. These beautiful people have seen us struggle and honestly barely make it for the last couple of years. So they were very happy to help us and I still can't thank them enough because, yes, this is hard to say BUT I'm being completely honest on here right now about everything and we were struggling. Today is the 29th of June 2025 and we got this beautiful car 5 days ago. We went and got insurance, only liability because that's what we could afford. Yesterday, I was so happy I went and cleaned the car up and was proud of that car. One of the best cars we have had yet as a little family. There was a problem though: the rotors and front brakes needed to be changed but it would still stop, but they needed to be fixed for sure. I was going to fix them next week because now things have changed. We have a big rent payment coming up on the 1st of July, we are having to pay back 2 different people now weekly out of our pay, then paying off my wife's family member for this car.

Last night, I was driving home and it had just rained. Everything was going perfectly fine until a roundabout was coming up (no, I was not speeding at all). So I start to slow down and as I am, the brakes pumped a few times and then the brakes hit the floor and there was nothing at all I could do but pray and hold the wheel and try my best to not hit anything at all and hopefully come to a stop, but unfortunately, no, that did not happen at all! The car jumped the curb and I started driving in the grass through the roundabout on Indian Creek Road, I do believe that's where that is, but I could not stop at all and I hit another vehicle. It t-boned the car and just put a dent in that car's door. But it probably totaled our car. Oh my goodness, I can't believe this happened after just getting the car and these awesome people put up their money to help us and we still have to pay them back before I can maybe try to fix it, and we do not have any money to fix it, let alone somehow we have to get the car out of the impound yard by tomorrow because it was $175 for the tow and $85 a day storage fee.

Look y'all, I'm not the type of person to tell others about my problems and I hate to ask for help. I don't know if it's a pride thing or a man thing, but it's there! I'm putting all that to the side for my wife and my kids to ask you all... Please, if there is any way possible that anybody could help... I would be the most appreciative man in the world. Seriously, this is the last thing to try and I know I might have just wasted my time writing all this, but I need to ask for help, guys. I really do. I'm not even going to go into how bad I was hurt in that accident. I don't want to bore you all with all my problems because I know everyone has problems and bad days. People, I'm stressing out so, so much. Anyway, guys, if you can afford to help in any way, we would be greatly, greatly appreciative! I'll be honest, we have worked so, so, so hard to try to get what we have. It's so discouraging, especially knowing everything we have sacrificed and gone without just to save up. If you can find it in your heart to help, nothing too big or small.

Thanks everyone who actually took the time to read this, and please share this everywhere. We would greatly appreciate it. God bless
