Lift Up Kristen's Family During Her Recovery
Donation protected
On December 22, 2024, Kristen Holt, a friend and colleague, had a stroke that has cascaded into a long-term recovery that is causing a financial burden on her and her family. This stroke caused her to have weakness on her left side, difficulty with her speech, and some impairments in her memory. As a result, Kristen was unable to continue with work while she underwent extensive therapies, including physical therapy and speech therapy.
She was making great strides in her progress when she had another stroke on April 8, 2025 – more profound than the last. This time, Kristen’s stroke affected the entirety of the right side of her brain. At the time of writing this, it is still undetermined the full ramifications of her symptoms from this second stroke; however, at this time she has paralysis of the left side of her body and had to undergo a craniotomy to remove her skull and relieve the pressure on her brain from the swelling after her stroke.
During this time, Kristen has not been able to work, which means her family has been reliant on her husband’s (RC) sole income. They still have a daughter who lives at home, and due to only having one income, it has become increasingly difficult for them to pay for their essentials (rent, utilities, groceries, etc.).
Kristen is a valued member of the community at large and is someone who was always generous when friends or other community members needed a lift. Whether it was donating her time, money or her insights into problems in the community, she has always been a big help. This is our time to give back to her. We are hoping to raise money to help offset some of the daily expenses that her family is incurring, as well as to help offset the cost of the rehabilitation that lies ahead of her. Please consider donating to this cause to help a friend and family member, as well as sharing this link with others in the community.
Please keep Kristen and her family in your prayers as they maneuver their way through this very difficult time.
