Help Support Brian and His Family During an Emergency
We are launching this GoFundMe to support my little brother Brian and his family during an incredibly difficult time. On Thursday, May 22, our family received a message no one ever wants to get: "Please stop what you're doing and pray—something has happened to Brian. He’s missing, and we can’t reach him."
Brian, a professional fishing guide, was traveling through a remote part of Canada on his annual drive to Alaska for his guiding season on the Kenai River. He was accompanied by his 7-year-old daughter, as he is every year. This time, disaster struck—approximately 130 miles from the nearest town, his truck’s transmission transfer case catastrophically failed, leaving them stranded with no cell reception.
Thankfully, British Columbia law enforcement was able to locate and safely transport them to the small town of Dease Lake. However, the breakdown required both his truck and the boat he was towing to be hauled out, resulting in towing expenses nearing $3,000, not to mention the cost of repairs and lost income.
This unexpected situation has placed an enormous financial burden on Brian’s family. His wife is currently 9 months pregnant, they have a 1-year-old son at home, and their sole income comes from Brian’s seasonal guiding work. This incident occurred just as he was beginning a critical stretch of his season, after recovering from recent gallbladder surgery and weather-related work delays in Redding, CA.
Our community has always rallied together in times of need—and today, we are asking once again. Your support, whether through a donation or simply by sharing this campaign, can help lift the weight off Brian’s shoulders and get his family through this crisis. If you would prefer to help outside of GoFundMe, please reach out to the family directly—they would be deeply grateful for any support.
We believe in God’s provision, and we believe in the power of community. Thank you for taking the time to read, share, and give if you’re able.
