Happy Friday to all of you!
I am organizing a small fundraiser for the
staff members of Stonebridge Health
Rehab, a nursing home in Austin, Texas
where my cousin, Jordan is a nurse.

I know that everyone probably has
something in their own community to
contribute to but hearing from my cousin
directly about how broken-spirited the
staff is right now, I felt compelled to jump
into action. They are short-staffed and
working much longer shifts than normal.
Some staff are sick and some have quit
because there is covid in the nursing home. Many of their patients are on palliative
care or have already been sent to area
hospitals and are on vents; some have sadly passed away. Many of the staff members
have worked there for years & years so
their patients are like family to them. They are grieving, their spirits are low and could really use any sort of boost in morale that we could give. Sending meals isn’t an
option (to eat on shift) because they try to keep on their ppe/never remove their mask for any reason for the entire 8-12 shifts for the safety of the residents.
If you’d be willing to throw in just a few
bucks, my local Austin friends & family will use the money we raise to purchase gift
cards to give to the staff there on Thursday. They are going to make signs and drive by
honking and cheering for both the
residents & the workers.
My cousin has arranged for a concert to be played outside to honor everyone.
Some of the ideas for gift cards we were hoping to send over are:
Coffee shop gift cards
Hello fresh box vouchers
Target gift cardS
Comfy Socks
Insoles
Massage gift cards
Headspace gift card/mindfulness apps
Netflix/Hulu subscriptions
food delivery gift cards
If you’re able to spare a few bucks so that we can lift the spirits of these very
hard-working and caring individuals, I
would be eternally grateful. Thank you for anything you feel comfortable
contributing!
Love to all,
Whitney
