Priscilla Arthur is one of the most hardworking and faithful people I know. She’s determined, compassionate, and resilient — the kind of person who rises even when life gives her every reason to give up. Her dream of becoming a nurse isn’t just about a career; it’s about her calling to care for others with love and excellence.

Below, she shares her story in her own words:

“My name is Priscilla Arthur, and I’m an international student from Ghana pursuing my dream of becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in the United States.

My journey in healthcare began in Ghana, where I earned a certificate in Nursing Assistant Clinicals and worked with USAID on the Strengthen the Care Continuum project, serving people living with HIV/AIDS. That experience gave me a deep love for patient care and showed me how powerful compassion can be in someone’s healing journey.

When I came to the U.S., I hoped to continue my nursing education, but because the systems are different, my credits did not transfer. I had to start over, so I enrolled at Cottey College in Missouri, where I studied Health and Biomedical Science. After completing my studies there, I transferred to a college in Ohio to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse.

This journey hasn’t been easy. My mother fought breast cancer with incredible strength, and much of my family’s limited resources went toward her care. When she passed away in 2023, it was a heartbreaking loss. But her courage continues to inspire me every single day to push forward and care for others the way she cared for me.

Right now, I need $6,000 to cover my tuition for the Fall 2025 semester and another $6,000 for the Spring 2026 semester. My goal is to raise enough to stay in school this semester and continue moving toward becoming a nurse.

I’m truly grateful for any help you can give — whether it’s through a donation or by sharing my story. Your kindness means more than you know, and it brings me one step closer to reaching my dream of serving others through nursing.”
