Help a Local Veteran Recover His Sunken Boat & Protect Lake Coeur d’Alene
A local U.S. veteran — someone who once served our nation with honor — now needs the help of his community. His boat recently sank on Lake Coeur d’Alene, leaving him heartbroken and without the resources to recover it.
The boat is not insured, and the costs to safely recover and remove it from the lake are significant. Without timely action, the vessel could leak fuel or oil, leading to EPA involvement and environmental fines that could make the situation far worse — both financially and environmentally.
That’s where we’re stepping in. Marine Rescue CDA, a local, licensed marine towing and salvage company, is volunteering time and resources to help recover the boat safely and responsibly — keeping costs low and protecting our lake from potential contamination.
But we can’t do it alone. We’re asking for the community’s help to cover the direct recovery costs: equipment, divers, and safe extraction. Every dollar raised will go directly toward bringing this veteran’s boat back to the surface and preventing environmental damage to the lake we all love.
⚓ How You Can Help:
• Donate whatever you can — every bit makes a difference.
• Share this fundraiser with friends, family, and local community pages.
• Help us give back to someone who gave so much, while keeping our waters clean and safe.
Together, we can lift more than a boat — we can lift a veteran’s spirit and protect one of Idaho’s most beautiful lakes. ❤️
