This is the absolute love of my life, Willow. She was recently diagnosed with IMHA (Immune-mediated hemolytic anemia), which is a serious, life-threatening condition in dogs where the immune system attacks and destroys red blood cells. The last few days have been a rollercoaster of emotions, with her red blood cell counts dropping overnight. She is stable on steroids for now, but the vet feels she would make a full recovery with the help of a blood transfusion. Of course, I want to do everything in my power to keep her with us longer. She’s only 6. However, the animal hospital quoted us around $8,000 for her transfusion. In addition, her vet bills for testing and diagnosis have already brought us to almost $2,000 in under 24 hours. This all came as a total shock, as she was completely normal two days ago. The past two days have been filled with tears and I’m finding myself already grieving her. I never thought I would have to discuss the possibility of euthanasia this soon in our time together, but with this blood transfusion, her chances of survival greatly increase, which means we get to have many more adventures together. So I have come to this, humbly asking for anything to help save her. She has been my rock through some of the toughest times in my life and we have been through so much together, even a move to and from Japan. Even if you are not in a situation to donate, we need all the prayers! Thank you all❤️
