Life-saving treatment for Koen
Donation protected
Koen de Puysselier is a behind-the-scenes legend in dance music production and urgently needs our help.
For the last two decades he has worked on hundreds of shows, touring with the likes of Tiesto and W&W, designing stages at festivals like Coachella, Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Dreamstate, as well as designing and producing a number of Gareth Emery’s Laserface / LSR/CITY shows.
One of the hardest working people in the industry, Koen put his work ahead of anything, being available round the clock for calls, texts and emails. He was always ready to jump into action whenever someone needed his help, bringing his immense knowledge, good vibes, and trademark sense of humor to any situation. He has one young daughter, Evah.
Unfortunately, working so hard for others took priority over Koen taking care of himself, and over the years, he built up a number of serious health issues which have now become critical.
Whilst setting up a recent festival in San Bernardino, California, Koen had to be taken off-site by a small group of close friends and admitted to hospital for emergency treatment, where he has remained since. Since then, he has undergone a large variety of tests, which have uncovered numerous untreated severe medical conditions including, most worryingly, a serious brain infection which has led to him becoming extremely confused and no longer his normal self.
His doctors have expressed to his family that he needs long-term treatment with a number of highly expensive drugs to have some chance of survival, as well as numerous other medical tests and procedures.
Unfortunately, health care in the USA is incredibly expensive – even with insurance - and spending the last month in hospital has drained Koen’s personal finances, as well as those of friends and family. As well as the cost of medication, there are numerous other costs, including having his family visit him from Beigum.
Anything you are able to donate will make a big difference in making sure Koen is able to get the medication he needs. It is vital we do everything we can to get him back on his feet and out of hospital. Currently, he is in San Bernardino – 300 miles from his home in Vegas – and we’d love to be able to see him back home in Vegas where he is able to see his daughter who he misses very much… and perhaps, with some luck, back to his beloved front-of-house area.
Thank you for any help.
As Koen remains quite confused, all funds will be administered by David Moor, Koen’s longtime business partner and best friend, and will solely be used in supporting Koen through this difficult time, in consultation with Koen’s siblings and parents. When Koen is out of hospital and successfully treated, any remaining funds will be dispersed to him directly.
