Lifesaving Treatment for Kittens with FIP

Lifesaving Treatment for Kittens with FIP
Three Nashville Cat Rescue foster cats - Annie, Fred, and Lilly - have been diagnosed with FIP (Feline
Infectious Peritonitis) and are in desperate need of treatment. FIP is a horrific disease that is 100% fatal
in diagnosed cats. Fortunately, there is a lifesaving medicine and we have been able to save over 95% of
our fosters that have undergone treatment. Unfortunately, this treatment is very expensive and not
funded by the rescue.

FIP medicine costs $90 per vial and each cat will need dozens of vials as they undergo daily injections for
the next 84 days. We estimate that it will cost $6,000 to fully treat Annie, Fred, and Lilly. It is
imperative that treatment be started immediately, and continue without interruption, as FIP is a fast-
moving disease that quickly devastates their small bodies. We are asking for your assistance in funding
the purchase of their medicine and helping save their lives. Donations made to this campaign will be
directly used to purchase FIP treatment for Annie, Fred, and Lilly and give them another chance at life.

Annie is the sweetest girl whose strength amazes her foster every day. She has been adopted and
returned twice, yet she was quick to trust people again. She is a lap cat all day and at night she sleeps on
her foster’s pillow. Despite everything she has been through, she loves humans and adores affection.
Annie has been through a lot medically over the last few months. She was diagnosed with IBS, fought off
an upper respiratory infection, and dealt with ringworm. Now she faces the major hurdle of FIP, but we
know she is a warrior with a lot of fight left in her. She deserves to win this fight.

Lilly is a 5-month-old kitten who was adopted and returned due to her FIP diagnosis. Her family was
going to euthanize her as the vet told them treatment was too expensive and it was “the right” thing to
do. Thankfully, they contacted us before they euthanized, and we were able to prevent her needless
death. Lilly has undergone just over a week of injections and is already more energetic and showing
signs of improvement. We have hope and faith that she will be fully cured of FIP if we can purchase
more vials of her lifesaving medicine.

Fred is an 11-month-old cat who has neurological FIP. He was adopted as a kitten and returned months
later with a horrible case of fleas. His adoptive family never bothered to treat him and he had obviously
been neglected. When Fred came back to us he was clearly not well. He would run into cages, pace back
and forth, and try to eat his metal bowl. After extensive tests he was diagnosed with FIP and began
treatment immediately. After 1.5 months of daily injections, he is still walking with a wobble but
otherwise doing great. We have gotten him this far and need your help to finish his treatment journey.
