Life-saving treatment for Ayessah

Hello Everyone,

I am Leah Marie Dacanay, and I am knocking on your generous hearts for prayers and financial assistance for the intensive medical treatment of my sister, Ma. Ayessah D. Camangyan.

Aye, as we fondly call her, has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease stage 5 in September 2022. She has been receiving dialysis treatment thrice weekly since then. On February 22 this year, she had cardiac arrest in the middle of her treatment at the dialysis centre. The medical team had to revive her for 20 minutes. That was a horrible scene for her husband and 19-year old son to witness. She was then rushed to the closest hospital, Manila Doctors Hospital, to have a better chance at life. Six days on, she is still in the ICU being put on a mechanical ventilator and on a feeding tube fighting for her life. She went through a series of cardio, nephro and neuro tests to name a few, and is closely monitored with the defibrillator on standby. We’ve been advised of irreversible damage to her brain and heart whilst we look forward to her gaining full consciousness. Real uncertainty awaits, but we will remain strong in our resolve to continue fighting with Aye - to earnestly pray for God’s miracles and to do everything we can so Aye can live again.

I am appealing to you to help us cover a portion of her hospital and medical costs. Medical treatment is costly in the Philippines. After spending a night and a bit in the ICU, her bill was already sitting at $8,000. We know that the cost will just keep growing as days go by. This was all so sudden. On our part, we are pulling together our funds and at the same time seeking support from government agencies and NGOs. Any bit of help we can get will be tremendously appreciated.

To those who don’t personally know Aye, she is a dedicated housewife who has raised two great kids who are God-fearing, respectful and well-rounded. Aye is strong and will always have her family’s back. I have been a recipient of such strength and support so many times in my lifetime. She has immense faith in God, and has maintained a big circle of family and friends. She has always been kind, generous and just full of life. I love her so dearly being my sister and bestfriend.

Our future plans of a kidney transplant are now put on hold whilst we face this more urgent challenge.

The family would greatly appreciate your generosity. If you could also share my fundraiser link within your network, it would mean so much. I know that money can be tight during this time, please know that any amount can help us get through this.

Again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. May God bless you and your family a hundredfold.

Sincerely,
Leah
