Lifesaving Surgery for Shannon Miller

My niece, Shannon Miller, is facing a long road ahead as she recovers from a liver transplant she is undergoing as I write this. The next several months will be challenging as her body fights rejection and works to stay healthy with a reduced immune response due to the antirejection drugs she will need to take long-term.

In addition to the high medical costs, she and her husband Jason are looking at significant loss of income as a result of the surgery and recovery time. Both have often worked multiple jobs concurrently while raising five children. They’ve led their lives with a standard of compassion and kindness and those who know them are aware that they are the first ones to offer their help to anyone and everyone, whether they are family, friends, or someone they heard about at church. They do it willingly and sincerely without seeking anything in return. Now they’re the ones needing some compassion.
