Life-saving surgery for Seedo
Donation protected
My boy Seedo needs your help with the costs of life-saving surgery.
Seedo is a 2-year-old rescue dog from the streets of Skopje-Macedonia.
He was brought to me early last year by Macedonian activists dedicated to relocating street dogs to berlin. He grew up in a busy neighbourhood with 4 of his friends where life wasn’t easy. They had to fend for themselves and were regularly chased, beaten and poisoned. I had been set on adopting a stray dog for some time, after meeting some of his friends with their new families and learning that he had been left behind as an undesirable black dog, I knew he was the one for me.
It took several months till he was ready to be brought to berlin. Upon arrival, signs of his past struggles were clear; he was underweight, with several wounds and bald patches accompanied by an extreme distrust of people. He spent the first few months either hiding in the corner at home or in the bushes when outside.

Seedo on his first day in berlin
Despite this, Seedo has been making heartwarming progress every day since. Seeing him develop has been one of my most rewarding experiences. What is now left from his time on the streets is only positive. He is one of the most aware and tolerant dogs I have met. He can play with any dog for hours and is never put down by anything. He is great at communicating, respecting boundaries, sharing his belongings and even finding his way home across the city.

Seedo means grandfather in Arabic, it is a common term that I did not have the chance to use growing up. At first, I picked it as a sentimental gesture, adding a family member in a time where I have not seen my family and friends back home for 2 years now. Since then he has grown to fit the role, he follows me wherever I go, cuddles whenever he gets the chance and makes every day easier. Spending a day at the park watching him run with his old friends from the hood is a day well spent.

Spa day
In January 2021, Seedo was diagnosed with a severe case of Chylothorax. A rare disease that causes difficulty breathing due to fluid build-up in the lungs. The symptoms were sudden, in the span of a few days Seedo became visibly restless, no longer able to eat or even play with his friends in the park. Treatment began with Thoracentesis; draining the fluid by puncturing the lungs in the hope that it would not return, but after several visits to the emergency clinic in one month, Seedo’s condition was still worsening. The fluid was returning at an alarming rate and I was told the only options were a 5000 euro operation or giving up...
Tired Seedo during treatment
For those who know me, I find it very difficult to ask for help or share my personal troubles, but at this time I see no alternative. It has been devastating to see him struggle over the past months and then be faced with a life-saving operation that I cannot afford. I lost my job in December due to the pandemic and Seedo fell ill shortly after. The emergency clinic visits leading up to the operation went through my 2000 euro savings. But I could not accept that he made it all this way just to be put to sleep because of my current finances. This is why Seedo had the operation one week ago.

Back on the couch after surgery and one week at the
clinic
I am currently keeping an eye on his recovery while trying to find a new job and cover the bills, but after a week of thinking, I realize that I cannot do it on my own. That is why I must now ask you to become part of his rescue story. Any donation or share will go a long way in making the next months easier and getting Seedo back on his feet running with his old friends.
Seedo on house arrest till he recovers
I hope to one day be able to repay your kindness, until then all I can offer are pictures of the sweetest doggo I have known and the thought that Seedo and I will be forever grateful for all your help and generosity.
