We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and a lot of hope. Our sweet little Morkie, (Leo) just a year and a half old, has been living with a heart murmur since birth. He’s always been gentle, calm, and full of love — always by our side, comforting us without asking for anything in return.

But recently, his heart murmur has taken a heartbreaking turn, changing not just his life — but ours, as his parents.

We just found out that his condition has progressed to the point where his heart is enlarged and under extreme pressure. The vet told us that without life-saving surgery, he may have less than a week and a half to live.

Leo’s murmur is believed to be caused by a congenital defect called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) — a condition that forces the heart to work harder and harder until it can no longer keep up. Many dogs with PDA can survive a few years, but Leo has already reached that limit. His heart is now inflamed and weakening rapidly.

We’re scheduled to get Leo an echocardiogram on August 11, 2025, which includes x-rays and an exam — estimated at $780. That does not include the cost of surgery, which is expected to be between $4,500 and $6,000.

We simply can’t afford this alone.

I’m currently serving in the United States Marine Corps. I joined in 2020 because I believe in protecting lives — and I meant that. Whether it’s for people or for the ones we love most, I’ve always been willing to fight for what’s right. And right now, the one who needs saving is Leo — and I’m doing everything I can to give him that chance.

I’m asking from the bottom of my heart — please help me save him. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or even just a prayer, it all means more than I can express. He’s not just a pet — he’s family. He’s comforted me and my girlfriend through long nights, tough times, and everything in between. He’s always been there for us.

Now I want to be there for him.
