Darla needs a splenectomy at VCA in Albuquerque on Tuesday, 8/12. Estimate for the procedure is $6000 and her family has already paid a few thousand to determine this and to keep her stable. Los Alamos Friends of the Shelter can pay $1500, but with your help we could contribute even more!
Since 1999, Los Alamos Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals has provided funding for catastrophic animal medical care and our spay/neutering program. The redefined focus of LAFOSCA is exclusively on assisting privately owned companion animals and their families and private rescue organizations. Our work alongside shelters and rescue organizations of Northern New Mexico will help reduce the population of homeless and at-risk companion animals by providing assistance directly.
