Hello friends,
I’ve started this GoFundme page with a few of my friends in order to provide immediate medical care and surgery for a life-threatening tumor impacting Addie. Our Addie was found to have a large tumor in her uterus. She has been chronically ill for a long period of time and has suffered quietly while trying to meet her financial responsibilities. She is a beautiful, independent 38-year-old woman who has been in my employ for almost seven years. She is also employed by a number of my friends, we all consider her a friend and a part of our family.
Unfortunately, Addie has been unable to work and has already fallen behind on her bills. She lives a humble apt and has no insurance or financial resources to afford this necessary surgery and extensive medical care. We have all pulled together to help her with basic living costs as well as the cost of the surgery itself. She will have a lengthy recovery time resulting in even more lost wages. We are asking for your support. Many of my friends have met Addie over the years and all that meet her fall in love with her warm smile and gentle soul. Please feel free to share on your social media page if desired and please give anything you can to help. It doesn't matter how little or how much, every penny is appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support.
A PERSONAL NOTE,
Addie moved to Costa Rica as a small child with her family. The family came with very little and applied for residency as soon as they arrived some 34 yrs ago, Addie's mother and brothers were all granted residency and all have government insurance. Back then a woman's status was not the same as a man's. Addie's mother applied for residency herself and her brothers but did not apply for Addie, Back then, it was assumed Addie would marry and would be covered by the insurance of her "someday" spouse. But Addie did not marry and when she was of legal age, she no longer qualified for residency. She simply fell through the cracks and is in legal limbo. Costa Rica was the only home she knew. She had no friends or family back in Nicaragua, so she remained here in Costa Rica. Not legal like the rest of her family, but in the only home she ever knew. Before I took Addie to the hospital two days ago she had never been examined by a dr in her entire
life. She was always healthy and happy. But now her situation has changed, she must have surgery as soon as we can raise the funds.
Thanks for taking the time to learn about my friend.
