Life-Saving Surgery and Recovery for Jax

Saturday, June 11th, we woke up in the morning to our beloved Pitbull Jax not being able to walk, he had lost total mobility in his hind legs. We rushed him to MedVet where they discovered that Jax had Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). IVDD is a spinal condition that occurs in dogs and results in a ruptured disc along the spinal column which blocks blood flow to the rest of the spine and nervous system. Left untreated, this is a fatal condition. With this life-saving surgery and several months of rehab, Jax has an 80+% chance of being able to walk again.

The surgery that Jax needed is a complicated and expensive one, along with the months of rehab he will need to give him the best shot of being able to walk again.

A little about our precious Jax. He came into our lives as a rescue at what we believe was about 8 months old. He has always been incredibly loving and kind, a true teddy bear. We have a home full of fur babies and Jax has always been so patient and loving to each and every new animal we have given a home to (including our meow-meows).

We are humbly asking for any donations to help alleviate the financial burden Jax's life-saving surgery and rehab has caused. Now more than ever, the importance of animals in a human's life is apparent. Knowing no matter how bad a day we may have had, to come home and see the smiling face of a dog, and how it just melts the stress away. We know for some, going to such lengths for an animal seems foreign, but to our family, these dogs (and cats) are our family. Our dogs love us no matter our flaws and we are so thankful they chose us to be their humans.
