Life-saving stem cell transplant for baby Hussein

Donation protected
Hi,

I am Ibrahim, my cousin in lebanon, a mother of two, Lea and Hussein, needs help for her newborn. She worked as a nurse but had to quit her job when Hussein was born . He is a 18-month-old baby who has failure to thrive, recurrent infections, enlarged liver and spleen, lymphadenopathy, chronic diarrhea, and anemia because he suffers from caspase 8 deficiency, which is a very rare and life-threatening syndrome.

A sum of 100,000$ is required for funding a crucial allogeneic stem cell transplant for Hussein in order to save his life and shield him from the complications of the disease that result in immunodeficiency, hemolytic anemia, autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome (ALPS), Very early onset-inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD) and tumor development.

Since his birth, he has spent three months in the pediatric intensive care unit. Due to his weak immune system, he has to be hospitalized every month. He is isolated from other children in the community and cannot interact closely with his sister, as there is a constant fear of him getting infected and needing to be hospitalized. He had to undergo numerous lab tests and imaging procedures, leading to significant pain.

He is different from children of his own age. His weight of 6 kg is lower than theirs, who weigh 10 kg, resulting in a delay in his growth. He is experiencing a speech delay, unable to pronounce simple words yet. He also experiences a chronic immune deficiency and frequently has a high fever.

I'm reaching out to request your assistance in saving her son's life through a stem cell transplant. A one hundred thousand dollars donation would enable them to undergo the surgery.

Your donation will go toward paying the costs of the operation and the complications that may result from it. Also, he needs a pre-transplant workup, an admission to the BMT unit for one month at least, Bone Marrow harvesting for his sister as she was identified as a full match HLA donor, post-transplant weekly visits for blood tests and physical examination, and multiple medications will be used for at least 3 to 6 months .

Thank you in advance for your contribution. You have no idea how much it means to the family to have your early and life-saving support, knowing that the sooner we perform the operation, the greater the chance of its success and the survival of their child from the complications of it.
