I'm reaching out on behalf of a close friend whose family is going through an unimaginable crisis.

On the evening of September 21st, his father suddenly collapsed due to a severe cardiac emergency. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors determined that both his heart and lungs had suffered extensive damage. He was admitted to the Critical Care Unit (ICU) on a ventilator, fighting for his life.

Tragically, despite the tireless efforts of the medical team, he passed away today (on October 3rd).

This heartbreaking situation unfolded while his father was visiting Canada on a temporary visitor visa. What was meant to be a joyful family visit turned into a devastating emergency—and now, an even more painful loss.

Adding to the family’s grief is a crushing financial burden. As a visitor, his father was not covered under the Canadian healthcare system. The total cost of emergency care, ICU treatment, and hospital stay has reached nearly $120,000. So, the funds will be used for Hospital bill payments. In addition, the family is now urgently trying to make arrangements to transport his body back to India, in accordance with their customs and wishes.
