My name is Omar, and I’m based in the UK. I’m organising this fundraiser to help my close friend Mohamed, a 23-year-old young man in Egypt, who urgently needs life-saving open-heart surgery.

Mohamed was born with a congenital heart condition that has now reached a critical and dangerous stage. Doctors have confirmed that he requires urgent open-heart surgery, involving two complex procedures carried out in a single operation, and that this must be done as soon as possible.

Without this surgery, Mohamed’s life is at serious risk.

Why this support is urgently needed:

Due to his condition, Mohamed is currently unable to work, and his family has very limited financial means. Even after government subsidies, the cost of the surgery and hospital care is far beyond what the family can afford without going into significant debt.

The total estimated cost of the surgery and related hospital treatment is approximately £12000. This fundraiser is intended to ease the financial burden on the family so they can focus entirely on Mohamed’s treatment and recovery, to give Mohamed the chance to return to being the caring, kind, and positive young man he is, and to finally live a normal, healthy life and support his family.

Medical care & transparency

The surgery will take place at the National Heart Institute (Imbaba Branch) in Egypt, a specialised cardiac centre. Medical documents confirming Mohamed’s diagnosis and the urgency of surgery are attached for transparency.

I am only managing this fundraiser. All funds raised will be transferred directly to Mohamed’s family and used exclusively for his medical treatment. I will share updates as the situation progresses.
