Life-Saving Glucose Sensors for Children in Moldova
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Valeria, and I feel incredibly fortunate to raise my children in London, UK. But I was born and raised in Moldova—the poorest country in Europe—where children and their parents live in constant fear of Type 1 Diabetes.
In Moldova, there are almost no resources to manage diabetes properly and no access to glucose sensors at all. Instead, children must prick their fingers 8-10 times a day, leaving them with painful, bruised fingers. Many families, unable to afford enough test strips, check blood sugar only once or twice a day, dangerously risking their children's health and lives.
I have seen those bruised fingers. I have seen the fear in their eyes. No child should have to endure this.
A continuous glucose monitor (CGM) could change everything. But these children need two sensors per month, each costing £51.74—that's £3.45 per day, the price of a flat white.
To start, I am committed to ensuring 20 children out of the 760 in Moldova receive sensors for the next three months. With your help, we can take the first step toward giving these children the care they deserve.
Please donate and help us make a life-changing difference!
