My name Louisa and I live on the West coast of Scotland. I used to work in Gaza city, and that's how I know the Aisha Association for Women and Child Protection - a Palestinian-led civilian Non Government Organisation (NGO) based in Gaza city.
The Aisha Association is a small, responsive civilian organisation. They have been working in Gaza City and northern Gaza since 2009 (please see further details about Aisha below). As part of their emergency work in Gaza, Aisha teams are now running mobile food stations in displacement camps in Gaza as well as distributing water and tents to Gazan families sleeping out in the open.
The situation inside Gaza is heartbreaking; the violence is relentless and people are dying every day. I invite you to donate to this fundraiser because this is about doing what we can do right now to save lives through providing food and basic life essentials to families inside Gaza.
This is not about pity, but supporting dignity and rights. It is about supporting Palestinian humanitarians working in the most difficult and dangerous conditions imaginable, with families who have quite literally lost everything.
This is where our actions can make a small, vital difference to women, men and their children in Gaza. All of the money that we raise will be spent on food items (beans, flour, salt, bread, oil, sugar etc) and water as well as to buy tents and shelter materials for families in Gaza,
I am in regular direct contact with Aisha Association and will send the money to them myself. Every time I speak with them they tell me they value our support and solidarity and that it encourages them to continue every day. - Thank you for your support - from Louisa
About Aisha Association for Women and Child Protection
AISHA Association for Women and Child Protection (AISHA) is an independent Palestinian, non-profit, and women-led NGO based in Gaza. For nearly three decades, AISHA has been a trusted community institution, standing with women, children, and families through the most difficult times.
AISHA began in 1996 as the Women Empowerment Program (WEP) within the Gaza Community Mental Health Program and became officially registered in 2009 as a stand-alone NGO. Today, AISHA is recognized locally and internationally as a credible, professional, and responsive humanitarian and protection actor.
Our Vision & Mission:
AISHA works to promote gender justice and to protect and empower vulnerable women, children, and adolescents — including survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), people with disabilities, and families facing addiction and displacement. We do this through integrated programs combining mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), legal aid, case management, child protection, family strengthening, and emergency humanitarian response.
Our Work in Gaza
Even under siege and bombardment, AISHA continues to serve its community. In 2024 alone, AISHA directly reached over 92,000 people through humanitarian and protection services, managing 40+ projects supported by UN agencies, INGOs, and local partners. since Octover 7th (2023) Aisha has implemented the following interventions
• Safe spaces & shelters: Operating in 31 displacement shelters across Gaza, Deir Al-Balah, and Khan Younis, and establishing 15 safe spaces for women and children. AISHA also created Basmet Amal 2, a unique camp and safe space for women cancer patients and their families, with tents, daily medical services, psychosocial care, and WASH facilities.
• Mental health & protection: Providing group and individual counseling, psychotherapy, and medication for women and children, including survivors of violence and people with chronic mental health conditions.
• Humanitarian relief: Distributing food parcels (more than 6,000 households), NFIs (including clothing for 25,000 children), hygiene and dignity kits (8,000 women), and PSS kits (3,500 children).
• Cash support: Delivering multipurpose cash assistance to over 10,000 individuals, helping families meet their most urgent needs.
• Community initiatives: Running mobile feeding stations, baking bread for displaced families, providing safe water, tents, and basic shelter materials.
• Education & awareness: Delivering child-friendly activities, positive discipline sessions for caregivers, and awareness on protections
• Capacity development: for staff and humanitarian workers on protection principles and procedures.
Why This Fundraiser Matters
The situation inside Gaza today is heartbreaking. Violence is relentless, famine is spreading, and families who have lost everything are trying to survive in tents, unfinished buildings, or out in the open.
AISHA’s staff — 150 dedicated professionals, many themselves displaced — are still working daily in displacement camps, shelters, and communities across central and southern Gaza. They are exhausted but determined, because the needs of women, children, and families are greater than ever.
This fundraiser will directly support AISHA’s lifesaving work, including:
• Providing food (beans, flour, bread, sugar, oil, etc.) and safe drinking water.
• Supplying emergncy tents and shelter materials for families forced to sleep in the open.
• Sustaining safe spaces for women and children at risk.
• Supporting frontline staff who continue to serve despite being displaced themselves.
Every contribution goes directly to AISHA, helping them protect dignity, uphold rights, and save lives in Gaza under the most difficult conditions imaginable.
