Life-saving emergency for Audie

Audie has had really bad asthma since childhood that has landed her in the ER many times. At the end of September 2022, Audie got a really bad respiratory infection and went to the emergency room unable to breathe.
After the ER tried everything they could, Audie was admitted to the hospital on September 29th. Even the most aggressive around the clock treatments were failing her and she was transferred to the ICU on bipap (positive pressure ventilation) for 2 days. She was moments away from being placed in a medically induced coma.
At the time of this posting (October 9, 2022), Audie is out of the ICU but still in the hospital with severe lung damage and is currently on oxygen receiving a variety of daily treatments. She will hopefully be released sometime next week and will be on 24/7 oxygen at home while also receiving around the clock breathing treatments.
Not only does she have a very long road of recovery ahead of her, but she’s unable to return home until certain measures are in place.
Audie had been using her rescue inhaler every day for a few years leading up to this emergency. And she always assumed it was because she lives in an area where the allergens are very high. But the hospital tested her for cat allergies, and the results came back at the absolute highest possible number.
Audie and her wife have 3 cats that they consider their children. Her pulmonologist told her that the cats were slowly killing her, and that she should not return home until the carpets are replaced, all furniture and upholstery is cleaned and all clothing, stuffed animals, blankets etc are washed.
Of course their babies also have to go, which has left them feeling heartbroken and defeated.
Audie’s medical bills are expected to be very extreme. Luckily insurance will cover a major chunk, but they will still be responsible for an unspeakable amount, along with new flooring, furniture cleaning etc.
Audie will also be out of work for a minimum of 2 months on disability, which will make financials even harder as disability only replaces 60% of her income.
They are asking for any donations to help with all these expenses. If you are unable to donate, please share this around so they can get all the help they can.
