Help Raymond Battle Stage 4 Kidney & Heart Failure

My Story

My name is Raymond Stokes, and this is not an easy message to write. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure and advanced heart failure, and I also need to have my bicuspid heart valve replaced.

I’ve always been the one who provides for my family. My wife stays home to care for our daughter, who has her own serious health challenges. But right now, I can no longer do it all on my own—and I need help.

The Challenge

My insurance only works in Tennessee, but I am currently living in South Dakota. That means none of my essential medical care here is covered. Every appointment, every test, and every procedure has to be paid for out of pocket.

For example, my upcoming heart catheterization costs $3,500, and that’s just one step in a long journey of necessary treatment. On top of that, I need ongoing care from both a cardiologist and a nephrologist.
