My name is Jonathan Reinke and I started this gofundme on behalf of my dad Albert Reinke. On February 6th my father came home to find his shop engulfed in flames with all his mechanic tools, parts (some which were so rare and irreplacable), snowmobiles, motorcycles, three wheeler, automotive fluids, nuts, bolts, and so much more inside. Many people in the area know my dad from either buying a vehicle, buying parts for motorcycles, sleds, quads, dirtbikes etc; some of which were not able to be found anywhere else, or had work done on their vehicle at a low cost as he loved to do the work and help people out. My dad has been working on anything with a motor since his early teenage years. He loved this so much and knew it was his passion and what he wanted to do since he studied automotive mechanics at 17. He bought the property with this shop in 1992 and has been collecting parts, tools, fixing vehicles and building memories since then. My brother and I learned a lot growing up in the shop. In 1997 my dad was in a horrible snowmobile accident which almost cost him his life and left him unable to keep up with the shop pace working at Steinbach Dodge, and I have vivid memories of my dad in a back brace and crutches still trying to tinker in the shop. His passion and dedication to working on all things with a motor was unwaivering despite severe physical limitations. The saddest part of this is that insurance would not cover his shop despite several attempts due to his wood stove that did not have a CSA approval. The same wood stove that survived this fire and came out looking no different than prior to the fire was the reason he could not get insurance. He now has to cover the cost of fighting the fire, the clean up and replacing all that can be replaced by himself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
