Hi, my name is Chiara, and I am starting a medical fundraiser for my dear friend, Izabelle (pictured left). Izabelle suffers from a debilitating condition called endometriosis.

 

Unfortunately, in Canada, access to a specialist for this kind of endometriosis is extremely limited and with the lengthy delays, the endometriosis has spread like a cancer in her body and into her sciatic nerve. This requires the skill of a highly specialized neuro-pelvologist. Izabelle has relentlessly pursued assistance and has seen countless medical professionals in Canada who are unable to help her for the foreseeable future and have encouraged her to seek specialized medical attention abroad. This eye-opening experience highlights the unfortunate lack of specialized and progressive care for endometriosis in Canada, a condition that affects approximately 10% of Canadian women.

 

Not too long ago, we used to be able to enjoy fun activities together, like hiking, surfing, and swimming and she regularly sang in live events. Sadly, over the past two years, my beautiful, active, and spirited friend has been increasingly suffering the disabling effects of proliferating aggressive endometriosis. Now there are many days when she is unable to even walk. We are so fortunate that she found a surgeon who is able to perform this surgery without delay in Turkey. Your generous contribution will allow her to travel to Turkey in order to receive this life-restoring procedure from a highly qualified and specialized surgeon.
