I am here asking for help. I have been diagnosed with a rare condition called RCPD. Otherwise known as “no-burp syndrome.”

This has been a life long issue of mine for as long as I can remember, I have NEVER been able to burp. It sounds silly, but it’s actually VERY uncomfortable and affects my day to day quality of life..

My entire life I have suffered with this. For a very long time it was unknown what the cause of this was, and doctors never took me seriously and I found no help and no relief. People who live with this disorder suffer from: bloating, abdominal pain, painful hiccups, difficulty breathing, and weird throat noises for hours as the air tries to escape with no relief. In order to relieve myself, I must induce myself to vomit in order to relieve myself of that excess air.

This is extremely embarrassing and personal for me to admit, let alone tell everyone on social media. But that is how desperate I am for some relief.

Within the recent years. There has been research done to finally help people with this issue. All that is needed is a surgical throat procedure. This is where I will be put under anesthesia and a muscle in my throat will be injected with Botox. This will help relax the muscle and will help that muscle relearn how to burp. Most patients only need this procedure done one time, with 90% of patients finding long term relief and forever being able to burp.

I have gone to a neck surgery specialist who is able to help me get this procedure done. This is where I ask for your help. The cost of the procedure is around $3,000. Sadly I am not able to afford this on my own..
