Lifeline for a Hero: Join Us in Supporting a Family in Need
Donation protected
Every day, our dedicated law enforcement professionals put themselves on the line to protect the citizens they have sworn an oath to serve. They shoulder the dangers and stress that criminals impose on the public. Today, one of our own is facing a heartbreaking crisis, and their family urgently needs our help.
One of our most selfless members is navigating an incredibly challenging situation. In May, our officer's father was diagnosed with advanced-stage cirrhosis of the liver. In July, he underwent a critical procedure to band multiple variceal veins in his throat, a necessary step to prevent potentially life-threatening internal bleeding. Since his diagnosis, he has been hospitalized twice and has recently been accepted as a liver transplant candidate at Shands in Gainesville, FL. Due to his high-risk status, he must undergo several medical evaluations to determine his eligibility for the transplant surgery when a donor liver becomes available.
Although he has medical insurance, as many know all too well, it only covers a portion of the costs. Medical bills are piling up, and the officer and their family are doing everything possible to ensure that their father receives the vital treatments he needs to survive. However, without our support, providing him with quality medical care may become an overwhelming challenge.
At the time of the transplant, he will need to pay $3,000. The family has already incurred over $3,000 in medical bills, and another $2,000 is still pending. Beyond these immediate expenses, there will be additional costs related to the surgery and the family's financial burden during his recovery.
Your generous donations will go directly toward covering medical bills, treatments, and any other associated costs to support him throughout this difficult journey. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a profound difference in their lives.
The Fraternal Order of Police Emerald Coast Lodge 44 is committed to improving the lives of law enforcement officers and the communities they serve. Our officers will always answer the call to service, but now is the time for us to come together and give back to one of our own who has selflessly dedicated themselves to protecting others. We deeply appreciate the kindness of all who choose to donate to this officer and their family, as well as the heartfelt well-wishes from those who may not be able to contribute at this time.
