Help Donna Get Life-Changing Surgery for Severe Lymphedema

Donna is a 54-year-old woman, her Husband Lance, works for the state Game & Fish Department, but as a contractor he doesn't have affordable health insurance.

Donna has spent much of her life fighting against cancer and its lasting effects. Her first diagnosis came in 1997 when she was just 26. She underwent a mastectomy along with lymph node removal under her right arm. In 2005, cancer struck again,

and Donna lost her left breast as well.

While she bravely overcame cancer twice, the treatments left her with a devastating complication: severe lymphedema in her right arm. Over the years, her arm has swelled to the point where it now carries more than 50 pounds of excess weight. This makes even simple daily

tasks impossible and places tremendous strain on her back. Mobility is difficult, and the constant pain has robbed her of much of her independence.

There is hope. Surgery could remove the excess weight and give Donna relief, but without health insurance, it is far beyond what she and her husband can afford. Her husband works long

hours—48 hours a week—to support them, and together they live very frugally. Still, this critical procedure is out of reach without help.

In spite of these struggles, Donna’s spirit shines through. She is a determined woman who loves

animals deeply, especially her beloved cat, who provides her comfort through the hardest days.

All she wants is the chance to live without this unbearable and very painful burden holding her back.
