We're Carl and Isabel and we met through our love of motorbikes - we were both Bloodrunners for SERV Kent, delivering out of hours blood, platelets and plasma to our NHS hospitals for free.
We have done several tours on our bikes, our most adventurous to date being Scandinavia, where we reached Nordkapp.
Isabel underwent treatment for breast cancer in 2018. Whilst a horrible time, it also provided a clarity and perspective to life and it cemented our dream, up until then only talked about, of riding round the world.
Most overlanders ride east from the UK and travel Europe first. We like to be different and so we're going the opposite way! We're flying our bikes west, out to Vancouver. From there we will travel northwards to Prudhoe Bay where our trip from North America to South America will truly begin, ending in Ushuaia, Argentina. Whilst the Americas will be done it will just be the first tick off our list. Where next? Well, that's still to be decided. South Africa? New Zealand?
We will document our travels on our website , Facebook page and YouTube channel - for our records and your entertainment. We're not flush to begin with and will no doubt have to find work en route to cover our costs.
The mileage from London to Vancouver is approximately 4700 miles, so if we raise a pound a mile, we will have no excuse not to leave as we will be able to afford to fly our bikes out there and buy ourselves a one-way air ticket!
Now, we're not just expecting you all to give whilst we sit on the sofa. We need to make sure we are fit for our adventures and we have recently started cycling. So, in return for sponsorship, between us we will be cycling, swimming and walking the same distance as our first leg - 4724 miles over the next 52 weeks. At a pinch we may complete this by Christmas. We are documenting this mammoth task on Challenge Hound and will post regular updates on how far we have got on our social media channels.

If you have had enough of all the talk and want to see the back of us (and we wouldn't blame you) any contribution, big or small, would be hugely appreciated and would spur us on to get as fit as we can.
We will be leaving for Vancouver in the Spring of 2023.
