Life without Logan; losing a father and husband.
Donation protected
Sometimes, life doesn't go the way we planned. Sometimes the worst thing imaginable happens.
For my friend Bernice Olivas and her two boys, this is the week they'll remember for the rest of their lives. This is the week they said goodbye to their dad, their husband, Logan Carraway.
Logan, 52, passed away today in Salt Lake City, Utah. What should have been a routine procedure turned into an infection his body just couldn't fight. He was made as comfortable as possible, with his family beside him.
No one saw this coming. This was supposed to be a good year-the small family moved to Utah in 2018 from Boise Idaho so Bernice, now a PhD, could start her first career-level teaching job at Salt Lake Community College.
They found a house, and a community where both boys could receive the extra supports they need for school and life skills.
After years of hard work and sacrifice, it looked like they were finally seeing the fruits of their labor.
But then spring 2020, Bernice and Logan contracted Covid. Logan's body took a beating, and he never really made it back to 100%.
This family is reeling; they need help covering funeral expenses, medical expenses, and saving for the boy's futures. They've lost their rock, now they need a soft place to recover.
Please donate whatever you are able. Everything helps.
