Life turned upside down by unexpected car payments

Hi my name is Mads, My family and I live in California, we've been struggling financially, and through some missed notifications, lost mail, bad pay checks, neurodivergent mishaps and unexpected financial emergencies, our car failed to pass smog, got towed and we ended up having to pay almost 3k in towing expenses, dmv fees, service fees, and all sorts of other ways the govt likes to Nickle and Dime us. We live paycheck to paycheck, and now that I don't have a car, I had to quit my job as a cleaning lady. Our rent is due in 2 weeks and we're short over half of our $3000 rent. We're just worried, but we understand most of America is probably in the same boat we are right now, barely getting by, paycheck to paycheck. However anything is whole heartedly appreciated, nothing is expected, just thought i'd throw our situation out there and hope for some kind souls to respond.
