Meet Strider: My sister’s fur baby.
Since the day Strider came into our lives, he has become an irreplaceable part of our family who is adored by all those who meet him.
Earlier this week, Strider fell ill suddenly with rapidly declining red blood cell counts. Two emergency stays, two blood transfusions, and numerous tests later, Strider has been diagnosed with a treatable autoimmune disorder. To hear that his condition is treatable is amazing news, but the vet believes Strider could still need another two blood transfusions before the medication can be fully effective.
With all that is listed above, his cat mom’s vet bill is already over $10,000. Anyone who knows my sister would also know that she has been tasked with managing and financing her own autoimmune disorders, so the irony is not lost on us. But she is struggling to manage these unexpected vet bills.
We realize times are hard for all of us right now. While some may walk away, this is my sister’s baby and we are not willing to give up on him. Any funds contributed would be put towards current vet bills and future blood transfusions. If you can afford to do so, in any capacity, please consider a donation to my sister’s efforts to save him.
