Lucia is in immediate need for treatments that will save her life and any help to save my best friend is tremendous.

I rescued Lucia from Pittsburgh. The shelter told me she was previously caged up in crate. She was abused and used for breeding, with clear neglect showing on her teeth, nose and bitten ears. Since day 1, Lucia has been beyond loyal, unlike any dog I’ve owned. Everything I do, is for her.

Out of the blue, she stopped eating and quickly discovered her liver is severely compromised with a low bone marrow count, so life supporting measures took place. She’s been given an IV for her medicine around the clock and a feeding tube up her nose. Her red and white cell count is low, but the doctors believe a full recovery is possible with specialists being able to diagnose this. All the doctors and nurse fell in love with Lucia’s sweet personality and when given a chance to go to an ER with specialists in Richmond that would squeeze her in, the ER doctor treating her from Washington DC insisted to drive us to Richmond’s Vet specialist after his full shift (since I don’t have a car and been ubering from hospital to hospital).

I refuse to give up on my best friend when she is staying so strong. Please, with my whole heart, if you can help her, I will forever be grateful that you want to save Lucia.
