URGENT: Life-Saving Help Needed for Hugo, a Critically Ill Puppy
Late last night, we received a desperate message from a breeder asking if we could help with a tiny puppy who was fighting for his life. Hugo, a 4-week-old German Short-Haired Pointer, was extremely weak — unable to eat, unable to stand, not drinking, and unable to hold his body temperature. He is only a baby, far too young to be fighting for survival like this, and there was no hesitation from us — we said yes, bring him straight over.
He arrived in the middle of the night and our team worked tirelessly to get lifesaving fluids into him and support him in every way we possibly could. He is so fragile, but he’s still fighting, and we believe he deserves every chance.
This morning, we spoke to our vets, who have advised that Hugo urgently needs:
• Full investigations
• Two days of intensive care
• An IV drip
• Supportive treatment to stabilise him
The estimate we’ve been given is £1,100 for the two-day stay and initial investigations alone — something our small rescue is struggling to cover, especially so close to Christmas. We don’t ever like asking for help, and we only do so when the situation is truly critical.
Right now, it is life or death.
Hugo can’t stand.
He can’t tolerate food or water.
He is dangerously weak.
We are his only chance.
If you can donate anything — even a pound — it will directly fund the veterinary care Hugo desperately needs to survive. If you can’t donate, please share this appeal. Every share could reach someone who can.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us fight for Hugo.
Together, we can give this tiny boy the chance he deserves.
