Life Saving Surgery for Latique Bethel

Dear Friends, Family and Compassionate Strangers,

We, the family, are reaching out to you with a heavy heart for your support, love, and prayers for our beloved Latique Bethel. What we thought would have been a “quick fix” has turned out to be more than we anticipated. Those of you that know Latique, know he is never one to ask of anything. He gives more than he receives, neglecting his own needs to ensure those around him never have to. However, as of lately, his health needs has placed more of a demand on him than anything else, so much that, an emergency surgery is required to aid in saving his life.

Latique is a son, brother, friend, and father to 4 beautiful girls from Great Harbour Cay, Berry Islands. His health battle first began in 2022, with the sudden onset of seizures, that we later found resulted from an intracranial mass. With God’s grace and prompt intervention, Latique was able to have a successful surgery. Latique was thankful and elated to have the procedure done thinking the worst was behind him. But in January of 2025, Latique began to present with weakness of his lower limbs, difficulty walking, and personality changes. An MRI was done, and Latique's worst nightmare was confirmed by Dr. Magnus: the mass has returned, but even worse, it is compressing his brain causing brain death, and it's found to be cancerous.

Latique is on a critical timeline. The initial life-saving emergency surgery to alleviate the pressure on the brain needs to be done within 3-4 weeks. The cost for this critical surgery is estimated at $40,000.00. This is the beginning of Latique's fight, as we would need further diagnostic testing and treatment to beat this cancer. As a result, we are leaning toward our village and community to support us in any way possible. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a real difference for Latique, who refuses to give up despite his current circumstance.
