Life Saving Surgery For Kasia Jedrasiak

Donation protected
Kasia desperately needs surgery to save her life.
She was born with heart and lung defects: pulmonary valve atresia, ventricular and atrial septum defects, and hypoplasia of the pulmonary trunk and arteries.
Her condition is deteriorating. Her body is not getting enough oxygen. Her breathing is shallow. Her lips are purple. She gets tired easily. She can't walk for a long time. Without this surgery she will die.

This sweet little girl is the granddaughter of my friend from Poland. Kasia is almost three years old and during her short life, she has already suffered a lot. She has had three operations which have only been able to help her to cope and ease her problems and help her breathe. She was only three months old when she had the first surgery. Her parents cannot forget the image of their tiny baby being hooked up to monitors, IV's and breathing tubes, fighting for her life. At eighteen months she had the second operation and the third operation was done in February of 2018.
Now Kasia needs a cardiac catheterization and reconstruction of her heart and pulmonary trunk and arteries to save her life.

Her parents were doing everything to find a surgeon in Europe that could operate on Kasia, but due to the complexity of her condition, they did not succeed.

They searched and searched and finally heard about Professor Hanley from Stanford Hospital in California that specializes in difficult cases like Kasia's. When they received news that Kasia was approved for surgery, they were the happiest people on earth. Then came the letter informing them about the enormous cost of the procedures and their hearts were broken again. But they have to fight for her. The love for their daughter is bigger and stronger than the obstacles that stand in front of them. They cannot lose hope because they cannot image life without their precious daughter.

Kasia's parents organized many events to start fundraising in Poland. They are raising money through a charitable foundation called Siepomaga. This foundation verifies all medical records before starting fundraising. Many people responded and they were able to raise $400,000 which is almost half of the total amount needed.(Edit 4-7-19:They have now raised $449,843) They still have to raise $500,000 to save Kasia. They need this amount to secure the date for the surgery and with that they can apply for medical visa's. On the foundations site: https://www.siepomaga.pl/en/kasia you will find the heartfelt plea of a mother trying to save her child.
You can donate here or directly to the Siepomaga foundation. On that site, you will see the amount raised in Polish currency(zloty).
We believe that with the help of many compassionate and loving people, Kasia's life can be saved.  Any money donated here will go directly to the Jedrasiak family for Kasia's surgery and any related expenses..

One of the hardest things to do is to watch someone you love suffer and not be able to do anything.
Kasia's condition is getting worse. Please help. Every dollar counts.

We pray that with your help Kasia will be able to come to Stanford and have her life-saving surgery, and be a blessing and joy to her parents and everyone around her.
