It’s like two big bombs being dropped, one right after the other. First, the news that your wife has a fast rapid cancerous tumor growing and then, that you have to pay $30,000 out of pocket for a life saving surgery. To say it’s overwhelming is an understatement.
Hi everyone,
You are probably shocked by the news, just how we were when we found out our dear sister, friend, Jessie has cancer. She is a young mother and we never expected it to happen to her.
Angel and Jessie have been living out of the country while she started to experience some swelling and discomfort in her stomach. They decided to get it checked as it was not going away. They got many tests as they could out of the country since it was cheaper than getting them in the States. It got to the point where Jessie couldn’t get all the treatment and answers she needed for her health unless they flew back to the States. Once In the States, they got more answers, telling her she had a fast growing cancer in her ovaries.
As soon as they could, they applied for medical insurance in the States. The good news is that they got one. The bad news is that it won’t start working for them until mid November. It is highly likely that Jessie will need surgery as soon as possible, like within the next few days. That means they have to pay the surgery out of pocket, which costs over $30,000, including hospital stay, and unknown treatments that she will have to get on right away.
Angel and Jess were thinking of waiting until November but considering the circumstances of this rapid tumor, there is NO WAY we are risking our Jessie’s life to save money. Angel has worked so hard to save some money for emergency situations, but not even close to the downpayment that’s needed for the surgery, which is $15,000.

As I am writing this, I am overcome with emotion because I know all the people Jessie has touched and she is the first one to help and never ask for anything in return. Now is a time to show her our help in this most difficult time where she needs us.
