Meet Hank! He is my fur-baby, best friend and support line for a lot of tough times over the last 8 years. Hank is 8 years old and has a sister, Pepper. They were rescued together when they were kittens from a dog kennel in the desert as we came home from a camping trip. We brought home the little fluff balls and they have been an integral part of the family since. The last 8 years have been packed full of amazing times from walks around the block (yes, Hank is harness trained and loves his walks) to snuggles (he loves belly rubs) and long conversations (he is quite the chatter box, well, when he's feeling well). Anyone who has met Hank knows what a special cat he is and how important he is to me.
Two days ago I took Hank into the emergency room to treat a blockage. It turns out that he has a mass on his colon and now needs surgery. The vets are currently clearing out his colon before we can move forward.They are unsure of what the mass is and he will need a CT scan to start. Due to the position of the mass, he must get it removed to survive. After the first two days , the bills are already starting to add up and I need help to save Hank's life. The estimate on the low end for the surgery and treatment is $6000. As of now I have already maxed out my credit cards (along with a new Care Credit card) and have spent about $4000. Since he is only 8, I want to give him a fighting chance to live out his years with me and his sister. I need your help to do this.
I know it is a tough time for everyone. Hank and I would be incredibly grateful for anything you can spare to help save him. If you have pets, you understand how much they become a part of your life and your family. He has been there with me through some incredibly tough times and I owe it to him to try to save his life.
Once his colon is cleared, he will immediately need to go to another hospital to get a CT scan before surgery so this is very time sensitive. He will probably be ready to be transferred in the next day or so.
