Life Saving Surgery for Alaskan Malamute Puppy
Donation protected
Meet Enzo the Alaskan Malamute. He was born on 6/16 and came to his forever home with us on 8/17.
Enzo had minor diarrhea during the long drive home followed by a small case of vomiting on the second day which prompted us to send a stool sample in to his vet. They tested for parasites which came back negative on 8/21 and we were told to monitor him for 24 hours and to call if he seemed to be getting any worse. He sadly didn’t improve and the diarrhea and vomiting had been slowly worsening over the weekend. His vet was able to move his appointment up to the next day on 8/22 and requested another stool sample be brought in to test for Parvo (which came back negative). Upon physical examination and ultrasound they discovered intestinal intussusception. His intestines seem to be telescoping into each other then correcting themselves followed by telescoping again causing significant damage to his GI tract. They had us transport him to MedVet Akron where they stabilized overnight with surgery planned for this afternoon on 8/23.
We have fallen in love with this little guy in the short few days he’s been home with us and are devastated by not only the thought of possibly losing our new best friend but also the financial crisis we are now incurring.
The estimated cost is between $8,000 - $10,000 with his stay in the hospital, surgery, and post care. He is only 9 weeks old and has a long rough road ahead of him and any amount donated is deeply appreciated and will greatly help with the finances in getting Enzo back to a long happy & healthy life.

I will update everyone on his road to recovery once surgery is complete in a couple hours.
Thank you so much for your kindness during this very difficult time for us & Enzo.

8/23 Update: I just got off the phone with the surgeon at MedVet Akron. Enzo is now out of surgery and it went better than expected!
We are sobbing with relief! They have him stabilized and are keeping the little guy at least overnight as the first 72 hours post surgery are most critical. We are praying for a speedy recovery so he can be back home with his family as soon as possible.
I will provide another update once the vet calls with his progress. Thank you everyone for your continued support & generosity. ❤️
