Hi, my name is Marianne and I am fundraising for Oskar. Oskar is a kitten who had a rough start in life but has remained the sweetest little kitten you can imagine. He is bonded with his brother and they have found a loving home. Their wonderful family adopted both of them so that they would be with each other for life. I fostered these kittens during the summer for Forgotten Cats and have remained in contact with their family. The kittens were thriving in their forever home. Oskar was the runt of his litter of 5 and took a long time to gain weight and overcome some initial upper respiratory infections. Sid had an eye removed and Oskar and Sid (Rudy) cuddled together all of the time following this surgery. They continue to be extremely close.
Oskar was taken to the vet on 10/26/2023 with difficulty breathing. A large polyp was found which extended from his ear into his trachea. During emergency surgery to remove the polyp, there were complications and Oscar remains hospitalized and has been in critical condition. He had to have a tracheostomy, but this little fighter pulled out his trach and is now breathing on his own. He is on antibiotics and is having difficulty eating.
The surgery and postoperative care to save this sweet baby is quite expensive and the bill continues to grow. He remains at Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
To have such a significant medical emergency within 2 months of adopting these kittens is devasting. The family has already bonded with these kittens and the kittens clearly have bonded with them. On top of the emotional toll that this is taking, the financial toll is huge.
Any amount that you can contribute will help with the life-saving care that Oskar has received and continues to need.
Please share and spread the word to help Oskar and his family.
Thank You!!
