We are raising funds to provide vital life saving equipment and training on the equipment to local organisations in Reigate
Thanks to the fast thinking of the general public and especially the presence of some off duty medics who were able to deliver high quality CPR before the emergency services arrived our Dad was able to survive a heart attack on 29 April at the Junction 8 Cafe on Reigate Hill.
We want to ensure that local areas have access to life saving equipment and do not have to rely on luck.
We plan to install the first defibrillator at the Junction 8 cafe in Reigate and provide training to the staff via a trusted first aid company (https://firstaideasy.co.uk/defibrillators/product-info/)
Subject to donations, we also plan to install and provide training on further defibrillators in local areas and make a donation to Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Aimbulance (https://www.aakss.org.uk) who also provided life saving support on 29 April
Cardiac Arrest does not discriminate and can happen to anyone, of any age, at any time!
The statistics are alarming - Cardiac Arrest kills over 60,000 people, of all ages, in the UK each year. If a heart defibrillator is used within 3-5mins of a cardiac arrest, the chances of survival increases from 6% to a huge 74%.
Thank you for any donations big or small.
