Help Jon and Coralie get their beloved dog Utah the emergency medical care she needs!

On 6/23/25, Coralie noticed Utah’s labored breathing and took her to their local emergency vet. Imaging showed bilateral pleural effusions and Utah was diagnosed with pyothorax of an unknown cause. They were able to drain 3200 ml of pus from her lungs and put her on IV antibiotics with slight improvement, but she continues to run a fever and has difficulty breathing. The vet is now recommending Utah be transferred to a specialty hospital for a CT scan, bilateral chest tubes, washouts, and possibly exploratory surgery. As of now, the cost for treatment is already well over $3000 for 1 night at the emergency clinic, and they are being quoted $3k for the CT scan and $10-12k for the surgery.
