Life Lost in Tragic Roxbury House Fire
Donation protected

Hello our Name’s are Nestor, Mario, Rosa and today, with a heavy heart, we reach out seeking support during an unimaginably painful time of loss. Tragedy struck our family in the early hours of February 8, 2024, when a devastating house fire in Roxbury, NJ, claimed the life of our brother Carlos Deschappell. At 58, Carlos moved from Miami in 2013 to Roxbury to be near his beloved mother, Virgilia and family. He quickly became a beloved figure in the neighborhood. Known for his friendliness to neighbors and his readiness to lend a helping hand, Carlos lived his years in Roxbury creating bonds of community and kindness.
Carlos's passing is not just a personal loss but a communal one. Despite his struggle with liver failure, Carlos's spirit never faltered, particularly with the joy of his recent role as a grandfather to his beautiful granddaughter, Florence. He leaves behind a grieving family, his mother, his son Carlos Jr., and granddaughter Florence. In the wake of this heartbreaking event, we find ourselves facing not only the emotional toll but also the financial burden of arranging a dignified farewell for Carlos. We have started this GoFundMe campaign to gather support to honor Carlos's memory fittingly and to provide some relief to the family during this challenging time.
We humbly ask for your donations, no matter the size, or for you to share this campaign with others. Every act of kindness is a step towards healing our hearts and commemorating Carlos's life and the love he spread so freely.
Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your support.
With heartfelt thanks,
Delvalle and the Deschappell Family
