Too All who know Derek....

I am reaching out to our friend community today asking for help, for a life long friend. Whether you know him as Derek, or by his other known personas ... "The FrenchMan" (who cant speak French), or his up-close and personal persona "Mr.Wonderful", is in need of urgent help.

Over the past several months, he has endured the most painful situations from injuries sustained from a freak accident. This accident has left Derek immobilized with a broken knee cap... and severely damaged ligaments. To worsen the situation, while trying to mobilize himself on crutches, to make specialist appointments, the rubber on one of the crutches worn through and slid out from underneath him. This caused Derek's hip to fracture requiring emergency surgery and a further hospitalization stay.

With everything out of his control, Life decided to kick a good man while he was down.

Derek lost everything.... from the roof over his and his beautiful dogs heads.... with no more warmth to come home to, to losing the financial ability to fend for himself.

He currently has help from volunteers who have assisted him with applying for benefits that will help ease the financial cost pains of recovery with no ability to earn an income.

Applying for the financial benefits has its downsides.... Time.... which Derek does not have the financial ability to hold on right now during the applying / waiting process.

Volunteer's have been able to relocate Derek to a bachelor apartment locally where his nurses can still complete daily house visits. This location is perfect for his recovery and is now in jeopardy of being evicted as the small amount of funds first raised paid for first and last months rent. It was hopeful that the benefits applied for, would have come in and been able to support him. Unfortunately as we understand in a recent call, that it could take another 4-6 months for the approval he needs.

I am trying to help raise immediate funds to help Derek pay for December's rent and an additional 5 months to help keep the roof over his head until his benefits are in. To be transparent, rent is $1200.00 per month and all funds go directly to Derek. The additional is for rehab work.

In closing....If Derek has ever bought you a drink, trimmed some bushes for you or given you a lap dance.... please help in anyway you can... our friend needs it terribly.
