Life is too short to postpone your dreams
1. Background
With the corona pandemic crisis that is happening in our world (COVID19) and people passing away with their big dreams not being manifested, I have learned the biggest lesson and that life is too short to postpone. My name is Fetelwork.M.Fanta and please take a few minutes out of your day to read this note...
Back in the days, my father used to lead eleven 11 villages and one of them happened to be Hitchi, located in Tembien, Tigray in Northern Ethiopia. It’s where my family and I were born and raised. There are approximately [phone redacted] people that reside in this little village and earn their living through farming. The people of Hitchi live in a primitive style, where you can barely find clean water, milling machines, school, electricity, or transportation. Any individual that lives in this locality is obliged to walk 10 to 12 hours round trip in order to fulfill their everyday needs. Everybody looked after my father because he was a man of action who sacrificed a lot for his country, with big plans and dreams and was trying his best. Unfortunately, we lost my father when I was a young girl because of the civil war that was going on at that time. My father left us 27,000 sq/ft land and a purpose to bring about his dreams to life.
My mother became a priestess right after her husband died and devoted her life to church and God. She raised me and my 7 siblings as a single mom. Not only was she a great mother to us but an amazing human being with a lot of love and compassion to all people she encounters with. For 50 years my mother also gave services to those who are poor, homeless, and wounded people. She has always wanted to build a church where people can freely go to without days of walking. Even though my family and I left to a different state for a better life, the whole village kept the land of my family, untouched with a big hope that we would return one day and continue in the footprint of my father. As a single mother she managed to start the church but sadly she passed away before finishing it. I recently lost my mother who was the most kind-hearted, caring, honorable, religious and who had huge dreams for her country, and as her daughter and as a Fanta Family, I am very determined to finish what she has started and fulfill my father’s wishes in order to alleviate the poor lifestyle and conditions of the people of Hitchi as well as mine.
2. Support Proposal:
My intention is to use the 27,000 sq/Ft of land mentioned above and finish the church my mother started. Alongside I also want to build milling machines so ladies from the village don’t have to walk miles so their grains can be milled into the flour with the appropriate equipment. In addition to that I would like to build a school so that kids can grow with education and not face what I faced as a young girl.
Since 1868 as shown in the 1st picture, the people had to do extra hard work to prepare their food and the sad part is when the world is changing and improving livelihood in general, still, people are living in age-old style. So my whole objective and drive is to step up and help this poor village and especially ladies who are gridding the corn and cutting the corps every day all manually. I am aiming for the finished school to look like the 2nd picture as shown. I am trying to show them there is a better way and give hope, but truth be told I can’t do it without you guy’s help. Even though I'm willing to give it all I got to accomplish these dreams of my family, I need as much help as possible. My total ultimate goal is to raise up to $500K-700K and so please I’m asking for your help to donate what you can and help me make a change and make a difference for the life of my poor people of Hitchi . I am looking forward to bring my father’s idea to life, my mother’s foundation to success as shown in the 3rd picture and I will promise you 110% with God's power this will be my life mission.
Thank you for your Co-operation
Sincerely
Fanta Family
