Life in Paradise for Helen Ngo (Nga Yen Ngo)

Dearest friends and family members,

With a heavy heart, we inform you that our beloved friend Dragon Do has recently lost his mother due to a long battle with breast cancer. We honestly can’t begin to imagine the grief, pain and sorrow Dragon and his entire family are going through during this time.

Upon discovering his mother’s diagnosis, Dragon instantly tried to find a way to spend as much time with his mom. Being the devoted and loving son, he dropped everything he built here in California to begin a new chapter in Indiana - battling the fight alongside his mom.

Helen Ngo was the strongest little warrior. When I say little, I'm talking about a petite, 100-lb, 4"11 woman. Giving up was never an option despite finding her diagnosis at an advanced stage (III) in 2020. She immediately underwent surgery to remove both breasts (double mastectomy) and began chemotherapy as quickly as possible. She did the unthinkable! In 2021, she achieved remission and became cancer-free!

Unfortunately, the cancer cells returned aggressively, spreading to her other vital organs. Although feeling weak and vulnerable during this phase, this wasn't the end of the battle for her. She continued to fight for as long as she could. After several additional rounds of chemotherapy and a repeat PET Scan, doctors quickly began to discuss other treatment plans.

The top priority was to advocate and respect her wishes for hospice/comfort care. Helen passed away peacefully in her home on October 1, 2022. Helen was a superbly strong fighter! Helen was a hard-working, loving, nurturing mother with one of the bubbliest personalities, down to earth, and a beautiful soul.

Some of you have asked how you can help us during this time. Know that your kindness is much appreciated as we navigate this heartbreaking moment. We kindly ask, if you can, to donate funds towards the funeral service, as we hope to carry out all of Helen Ngo's final wishes. We are eternally thankful for your love and support.
