Saturday on the 30th we were attending family gathering, when I suffered a severe and violent seizure. I was lucky that we had a nurse there who gave me first aid, and the paramedics were located only a few blocks away. I was rushed to Kaiser San Leandro where I not only got treatment but a CT scan. The scan showed two nodules on my lungs, but also a tumor in my brain. A subsequent MRI shows three tumors, one large one that has been giving me headaches, motor skill problems and worst vision isssues, not what an Imagery Analyst wants to hear. The good news: The neurologist believes that removing the large tumor and a second one close by will do the trick. After biopsy they can determine if something like radiation is necessary. The prognoses is good and I am reaming positive, with surgery scheduled for Oct 20th. Here is where I need help. I have been paying Cobra out of pocket, and going through savings since I was laid off, so now money has become an issues and it's not gonna get any better. My family is helping and I have just started getting some disability from the Veterans Administartion. Kristin is working part time and the boys as well, but they are also trying to finish up college and I want them to do so. The money I have won't last through my recovery, so I need your help very very much. I am a bit embarrassed to ask, but I am hoping I was a good enough friend or family member, any help is welcomed. Please also keep in touch, my motor skills are a bit off, so I have trouble typing, so you may get an emoji response. But my medication is also causing some depression so getting simple quick notes lifts my spirits!
